Building a venture is rarely a straight path. It asks entrepreneurs to keep moving even when plans change, opportunities fall through, or the next step isn't entirely clear. And keep moving, they do. This resilience is something Tenzin has had the privilege of witnessing over many years of his work.

Tenzin Tsering is Senior Associate for Aspire Beyond at JoyCorps. Aspire Beyond is a nine-month program for early-stage entrepreneurs, helping them work through three 90-day action plans while receiving coaching, expert consultation, mentoring, and opportunities to build meaningful networks. Tenzin works with entrepreneurs who are driven by ideas that go beyond profit. They persevere because they believe their ventures can create positive change, and they keep adapting, learning, and growing even when the journey demands unexpected pivots. "That's what makes redemptive entrepreneurship so remarkable," he says.

One of those entrepreneurs is Mrityunjay Kumar from Patna, whose venture, Triune Ecosphere, aims to reduce plastic pollution by recycling waste into reusable raw materials. Mrityunjay has made full use of the available resources in Aspire Beyond. He has built investor presentations, strengthened his financial planning with support from an accountant in the program, secured the necessary business registrations, and developed realistic contingency plans in case his funding falls short. As Tenzin puts it, "He's getting somewhere. He's trying to understand his customer base, build the networks he may end up doing business with later on, and it's pretty cool to see his approach."

For Prince (Harshith), founder of MapLab Geospatial, the learning curve has looked different. With a background in Geographical Information Science, he found building the technical side of his venture natural. Learning how to price, position, and validate a service in the market has been an entirely new challenge. Throughout Aspire Beyond, Tenzin and his colleague Shalem have worked with Prince as he experimented with customer conversations and demand validation. Today, Prince is learning to read market signals more confidently. Watching technical expertise gradually evolve into entrepreneurial confidence has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

Tenzin sees that same resilience in Bhavan, founder of Article 15, a Delhi-based food venture serving authentic Andhra cuisine while championing dignity and inclusion. Named after the constitutional article that prohibits discrimination, the venture is deeply rooted in its social mission. Along the way, Bhavan has learned to adapt. For example, he has had to switch among dine-in, cloud kitchen, and delivery models depending on seasonal demand from his primary customer base. More recently, a technical glitch on a food delivery platform wiped out much of his customer history and reviews, causing a dramatic drop in orders. Yet instead of giving up, Bhavan continues to experiment, pivot, and look for creative ways to rebuild while staying true to the values that inspired the venture in the first place. That determination continues to leave Tenzin in awe.

Supporting entrepreneurs in Aspire Beyond has taught Tenzin as much as the program has taught its participants. Every 90-day cycle begins with entrepreneurs setting ambitious goals for the months ahead, and every monthly check-in becomes an opportunity to revisit, reshape, and strengthen those plans. Some ideas evolve dramatically. Some need to be discarded altogether. But one thing remains remarkably consistent. Entrepreneurs keep showing up. "An entrepreneur’s journey is not always fair," Tenzin reflects. "It's really, really hard, and it requires a lot of creativity to keep navigating the journey. But entrepreneurs seem almost intrinsically equipped to deal with these challenges." Their commitment is what makes guiding Aspire Beyond such a rewarding experience for Tenzin.
