Understanding demands slowing down, taking time to listen, asking questions, deeply caring. We are deliberate in humbly “standing under” others’ opinions, world-views.

How is this value lived out?

• We listen before we teach, explain, advise, or mentor.

• We go and be with those we seek to serve to understand their place, work, environment etc

• We seek to understand before being understood.

• We don’t run from discomfort but choose to pursue clarity.
